ChatGPT Codex Desktop

Connect ChatGPT Codex Desktop to NeoStack AI.

Codex Desktop shares its config with Codex CLI, so the setup is the same: download the NeoStack bridge and register it once with codex mcp add.

Follow the Codex CLI guide. After the one-time codex mcp add, the desktop app picks it up too. Restart Codex Desktop if it was already running.

Verify

Open your Unreal project (NeoStack AI plugin 3.1.8 or newer), start a new Codex conversation, and ask:

Use the unreal tool to print “hello from codex”.

If the editor Output Log shows the message, the connection is working.

When several editors are open, ask Codex to “list unreal projects” and “select” the one you want, or set NEOSTACK_PROJECT_DIR to the project path.
